🛡️ The Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) & Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR)
Under federal law, specifically the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) and the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), consumers are granted comprehensive protections when working with credit restoration firms:
No Upfront Fees: K & W Credit strictly operates on a retrospective/pay-after-performance fee model. We never request, demand, or accept payment of any kind before our services have been fully performed.
Written Agreements: Every client is provided a detailed, written contract outlining the exact services to be performed, total costs, and an estimated timeframe for completion before any work begins.
3-Day Right to Cancel: You have a legal, statutory right to cancel your contract with K & W Credit without any penalty or obligation within three (3) business days from the date the contract is signed. A mandatory Notice of Cancellation form is provided with every agreement.
🔍 Summary of Consumer Rights Under the FCRA
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) grants you the right to dispute inaccurate information directly with credit bureaus for free. You do not need to hire a third-party service to clean up your credit report.
You have the right to look at your credit file at any credit bureau, and you are entitled to a free file disclosure from each nationwide bureau every 12 months via AnnualCreditReport.com.
You have the right to dispute inaccurate, incomplete, or unverified information directly with the credit reporting agencies.
Accurate, negative information generally stays on your report for up to 7 years (up to 10 years for certain bankruptcies). No credit repair company can legally remove accurate, timely, and verified negative information.
